Amanda Kloots is celebrating the first birthday of her and Nick Cordero’s son, Elvis, while her husband remains in the hospital with coronavirus complications.

In Cordero’s absence, Kloots, who stands outside his Cedars-Sinai Hospital window in Los Angeles every day to visit, is looking back on the “best day of (her) life” a year ago when she was again at a hospital welcoming their baby.

“We couldn’t stop staring at him and eventually holding him,” Kloots recalled in an Instagram post Tuesday of their newborn, who spent his first two nights in the neonatal intensive care unit with fluid in his lungs.

“My two Cordero men: last June Elvis is in the NICU. This June Nick is in the ICU. These guys are really trying to take me down,” she added with a laughing emoji.

Kloots said last month her goal was to welcome Cordero home in time to celebrate Elvis’s first birthday.

The Broadway actor has been hospitalized for 71 days after severe complications from what was originally thought to be pneumonia in March, but was later discovered to be the coronavirus. Cordero, 41, has since tested negative for the virus, but suffered from a new lung infection at the end of last month and remains on a ventilator. He began stem cell treatment last week to help heal his lungs, she shared.

Kloots, a celebrity fitness trainer, has kept her more than 290,000 Instagram followers well-informed on Cordero’s latest highs and lows as she continues to look for the positives and blast her husband’s music with baby Elvis.

“Where there is faith, there is hope,” Kloots wrote in a post last week. “Where there is hope, there can be a miracle! Like my dad has said since day one, every day he’s still with us is a miracle. I believe God is with us, with the doctors and with Nick.”
